About HPC

HPC Specialty Pharmacy provides medications that are used to treat a range of complex and chronic diseases in patients at every stage of life – from infancy to geriatrics. Our distinction as a specialty pharmacy is a result of our high-touch, patient-centric services and programs that go beyond the role of a traditional pharmacy to:

  • Achieve the best possible outcomes from our specialty medication therapies
  • Improve the safety and quality of life
  • Manage costs effectively

A History of Care

Hemophilia Preferred Care (HPC) was founded in 2002 by Ron Cieutat and Todd Vereen in Saraland, Alabama. HPC began treating individuals with Hemophilia.

We quickly recognized the difference we made in our patients’ lives and that our services could help a broader range of people in need. We expanded our business to help patients with conditions such as Crohn’s Disease, Hepatitis C, IVIg, Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and other specialized conditions.

As we grew, we moved our corporate offices to downtown Mobile, Alabama and formally renamed our company HPC Specialty Pharmacy.

Not Just a Pharmacy

Today, HPC Specialty Pharmacy is a comprehensive system of care for individuals experiencing chronic medical conditions. Our expert Care Teams provide coordinated services, support, and education that help patients and health care providers manage the disease, ensure proper medication use and adherence, and assist with the management of the financial and insurance aspects of the drug therapy. HPC also facilitates the critical monitoring of treatment and doses for insurers, as well as the efficiency, effectiveness, and outcomes of drug therapies for manufacturers.

HPC assures that we meet the highest standards of quality and excellence in the Specialty Pharmacy industry. We have been awarded accreditation from ACHC, CHAP,  JCAHO, and URAC – health care accrediting organizations that establish meaningful quality standards for the health care industry.

HPC’s patient-centered team approach, community and home-based care and support, and personalized services enable us to empower individual patients with individual needs with independence, knowledge, and the ability to achieve the highest quality of life.
